The Top Non-Business School AI Classes For Executives

We’re not talking MIT or the London Business School, but these training classes can help executives understand AI management.

Last week, AI Finance Today offered a list of great AI skills classes from credentialed business schools.

Let’s start this week with a menu of AI training classes not from the MITs of the world but from technology companies and industry organizations that strive to give executives high-level AI management courses without paying business school prices.

Course: Coursera AI for Everyone
Cost: Up to $79 per month.
Timeframe: Six hours.

Summary: “AI is not only for engineers,” Coursera notes in explaining the course. “If you want your organization to become better at using AI, this is the course to tell everyone, especially your non-technical colleagues, to take.”

In the course, executives will learn the following AI tenets:

– The meaning behind common AI terminology, including neural networks, machine learning, deep learning, and data science.
– What AI realistically can–and cannot–do
– How to spot opportunities to apply AI to problems in your own organization
– What it feels like to build machine learning and data science projects
– How to work with an AI team and build an AI strategy in your company
– How to navigate ethical and societal discussions surrounding AI. Though this course is largely non-technical, engineers can also take it to learn the business aspects of AI.

This course, also from Coursera, provides the components needed for a successful organizational adoption of Generative AI. The course focuses on business leaders and other decision-makers currently or potentially involved in Generative AI projects.


Course: Understanding Artificial Intelligence by Datacamp
Cost: Up to $25 per month.
Timeframe: Two hours.

This beginner-friendly course delves into the foundational aspects of the swiftly advancing world of AI. Dive into the world of AI with hands-on exercises, no coding knowledge necessary, and unravel the buzzwords that often surround it, including machine learning, deep learning, explainable AI, and others like natural language processing and generative models.


Course: HarvardX’s Computer Science for Artificial Intelligence Professional Certificate
Cost: Up to $466.
Timeframe: About five months.

This professional certificate series from Harvard X combines CS50’s legendary Introduction to Computer Science course with a new program that explores the concepts and algorithms at the foundation of modern artificial intelligence.

The series will lead you through Harvard’s most popular undergraduate course, where you’ll learn the common programming languages. It then carries that foundation through CS50’s Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python.
